The Federal Skilled Worker Program is for those who want to become permanent residents of Canada based on their age, education, work experience, proficiency in the official languages, adaptability, and other criteria that have been shown to help immigrants become economically established in Canada.
Requirements:
- Have obtained at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in the 10 years prior to application
- Work experience must be in either NOC 0, A, or B occupation
- Meet the minimum language scores in English or French.
- Plan to live outside the province of Quebec.
The Canadian Experience Class is for those who have skilled work experience in Canada and want to become permanent residents.
Requirements:
- Have obtained at least one year of full-time (or equivalent part time) work experience in Canada in the 3 years prior to application that was gained with proper authorization.
- Work experience must be in either NOC 0, A, or B occupation.
- Meet the minimum language scores in English or French.
- Plan to live outside the province of Quebec.
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for those who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
Requirements:
- Meet the minimum language requirement of CLB 4 in reading and writing, and CLB 5 in speaking and listening.
- Have at least 2 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in a skilled trade within the 5 years prior to application.
- Meet the job requirements for your skilled trade as set out in the National Occupation Classification.
- Have a valid job offer of full-time employment for at least one year (with LMIA) or a Certificate of Qualification in your trade issued by a Canadian provincial, territorial, or federal authority.
Skilled Trades currently eligible for the Federal Skilled Trades Program are organized under the following groups:
· Industrial, electrical and construction trades.
· Maintenance and equipment operation trades.
· Supervisors and technical occupations in natural resources, agriculture and related production.
· Processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors and central control operators.
· Chefs and Cooks.
· Butchers and Bakers.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) allow Canadian provinces and territories to nominate individuals who wish to immigrate and settle in a particular province. A provincial nomination provides an additional 600 points for the applicant’s Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, which makes it more likely for the applicant to receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA) through the Express Entry System
